Cultural Story

Purpose 

• To begin to connect our voice to our roots (culture)

In 3-5 minutes, share a song, poem, recipes, food or short story that is representative of an aspect of your culture.

1. First explain to the class, how you are defining your culture.

2. Tell us who your audience is and what kind of feedback would be most valuable to you.

3. Briefly describe how the song, poem, recipes, food or short story is representative of that culture

4. Tell the story, read the poem, sing the song or play a CD of the song, share a 
recipe, food or story.

When presenting this story to the class bring it with you to your feedback session.
